Over the years, Kim’s untimely demise has been a subject of great controversy in the industry with many suspecting foul play on Diddy’s part.

And though the allegations remained unconfirmed for a long time, it seems like Diddy might have had a solid motive to end the life of the mother of his kids after all. Fans have been revisiting Diddy’s past in light of new information, including allegations of mistreatment and potential involvement in Kim Porter’s death. Kim’s untimely demise at the age of 47 in 2018 raised suspicions, especially considering her seemingly healthy condition prior to her passing. Initially attributed to pneumonia, doubts persisted within certain circles.

Diddy and Kim’s relationship began in the late ’80s when she was working at Uptown Records. Despite being married at the time, Diddy was captivated by her. They began dating in 1994 and had a son together in 1997. However, their relationship faced challenges, with Diddy’s involvement with Jennifer Lopez sparking public attention. Kim reportedly learned of this relationship through social media.

Despite the turmoil, Kim remained composed and focused on raising her children. Her reaction to Diddy’s involvement with Jennifer Lopez was notably restrained. This speaks volumes about her character and strength in the face of adversity.

Hip-hop mogul Diddy is said to be “devastated” after the sudden death of his ex-girlfriend Kim Porter.

The rapper, real name Sean Combs, was shocked to learn of the former model’s passing after she was found dead at her Toluca Lake, California home on Thursday.

Kim is mother to three of Diddy’s six children – son Christian, 20, and twin daughters, D’Lila Star and Jessie James, 11.

The pair had a tumultuous on/off relationship dating back to the mid 1990s and even ended up in court at one point battling over child support.

Diddy, who was going by the name Puff Daddy at the time, first met Kim at a recording studio in the early 1990s when she was with her ex-boyfriend, singer Al B Sure!

Recalling their first meeting years later, he said: “I was admiring her – her lips, her eyes, her mouth, her shape, her energy. I wish I had a girl like that.”

Kim was soon hired as a receptionist at Diddy’s record label and finally in 1994, the rapper made his move.

Sean embraced his role as stepfather to Kim’s son, actor and singer Quincy Jones Brown, now 27, who was born to her ex Al B. Sure.

Meanwhile, Diddy was already father to son Justin, born in 1993 with his high-school sweetheart, designer Misa Hylton-Brim.

In a 2010 interview, Misa claimed Diddy’s relationship with Kim started when they were still together.

She told Power 105.1 radio station: “Kim and I go back for years now. We were friends at one point. I was like, ‘You wanted him, you got him now baby.’ So she’s gotta go through all the bulls**t I had to go through back in the day… Puffy was cheating on me with both of them (Kim and Sarah Chapman).”

In April 1998, Kim gave birth to her first child with Diddy, their son Christian, but their happy family wasn’t to last.

The following year, Sean left Kim to start a high-profile romance with Jennifer Lopez, who was then a burgeoning Hollywood starlet.

Understandably furious, Kim threw Diddy out of their house after finding out about him and Jennifer.

Recalling the moment she found out, Kim said: “A friend called my cell phone… Then a few weeks later, the press hit. People were talking to me like I was really crushed. But I had just had a baby. I couldn’t be somewhere in a corner heartbroken. I have kids.”

Kim was clearly hurt by Sean’s two-year relationship with J.Lo and made some scathing comments about the singer/actress in a 2006 interview.

She told Essence magazine: “That relationship wasn’t real. The world just saw the bright lights and the camera. But I knew what was really going on. He was still in love with me.”

Kim went on to claim Diddy “fell for a booty and a smile” and used to tell him he would come crawling back to her after he left “his little Puerto Rican girlfriend”.

Despite being in contact with Sean frequently throughout his romance with Jennifer, Kim forbade the Hollywood star from coming into contact with their baby Christian.

Kim quipped: “Does she look like the type that would want to play house and family with two little black kids? No.”

When asked about Kim’s comments around the time, Jennifer tried to be diplomatic: “I am not going to go there. Look, she knows what went on, I know what went on. And that is where we have to leave it. I am not going to discuss any of the details of that intimate relationship that I had with the public.”

Following the rapper’s split from Jennifer in early 2001, Kim sued Diddy for paternity and child support in a New York court.

She wanted an order declaring him to be the “legal father” of Christian and more money than the $6,800-a-month he was paying at the time. She ended up with an increase to $35,000-a-month.

Despite her lawsuit, Kim insisted throughout the court case he was a “great father”.

After the cheating and legal battles, amazingly Diddy and Kim reunited in 2003 and the model became pregnant with their twins D’Lila Star and Jessie James in 2006.

However, unbeknown to Kim at the time, the rapper was having an affair with long-time associate Sarah Chapman, who became pregnant with his daughter Chance, now 12.

Kim heard rumours about Sarah’s pregnancy – who gave birth to Chance five months before the twins arrived – and decided to turn private investigator to get some concrete facts.

In 2009, she told Essence magazine: “I laid low and did what women do: I did my background work, collected information… I was pregnant… I didn’t have time for any drama, trauma and bulls**t.”

Despite his behaviour, Kim was surprisingly calm about Diddy’s behaviour: “I would have preferred to find out from him because that’s a man… I know it’s hard for anyone to say to their significant other, ‘I’ve gotten into some s*** and I got a baby on the way.’ But men do get caught up in things; I’m not naive to that. Still, there’s a right and a wrong way to handle it.”

Months after the twins were born in December 2016, Diddy finally came clean to Kim about his love child and was shocked she already knew.

She recalled: “I said, ‘Really? Well, I already knew. I’m glad you decided to be a man.’ I was like, ‘Dude, this is so wack I can’t even respect you right now.’ And for me, once the respect is gone, I’m not even listening to you.”

Despite the love child revelation, the couple tried to carry on, before a host of other issues made Kim finally walk out for good in June 2007.

Without telling him of her plans to leave him, Kim waited until Diddy was out of town before she packed up the house – including the cars, nursery furniture and kitchen table – and moved out.

Explaining her exit strategy, she explained: “I wanted to be dramatic. I wanted him to know I wasn’t breaking up with him for two weeks – or maybe leaving for two days. If I pack up everything – twins and all – it means I’m out!”

She insisted the love child wasn’t the sole reason she ended her relationship with Diddy, but added: “Well, that definitely was part of it.”

Over the past 11 years, Diddy and Kim have remained close friends as they co-parented their children together.

They regularly holidayed together and Kim was often by his side on the red carpet, most recently as last month.

Explaning their special bond, Kim said: a few years ago: “Sean and I have this bond, this friendship. It’s not about ‘if you’re faithful to me, if I’m being faithful to you.’ We’re friends. I’m the person he can tell his inner most thoughts to, and he’s that person for me. He still calls me everyday and we talk.”

During their second try at a relationship, Diddy hailed Kim as his muse: “You know how they say it in the movies? It’s corny but beautiful: She completes me.”
